ODA Drawings Explorer Command Reference

This Command Reference includes information about each command that is available in ODA Drawings Explorer from the menus or from the command line (command line text is in italics).

NewnewCreates a new file (supported for .dwg files only).
OpenopenOpens a .dwg or .dgn file.
ClosecloseCloses the current file.
RecoverrecoverOpens and attempts to repair a .dwg file. (Command line only.)
AuditauditChecks the open .dwg file for errors and reports results with an option to repair any errors that are found. (Command line only.)
SaveqsaveSaves the open .dwg or .dgn file in its same file format.
Save AssaveasSaves the open .dwg or .dgn file with a new name or in a new location.
Import DGNdgnimportImports the contents of a .dgn file into the currently opened .dwg file. (Command line only.)
PlotplotPrints the open .dwg file according to the options you select.
ExitquitCloses ODA Drawings Explorer.
UndoundoReverses the last operation performed in a .dwg file (supported for .dwg files only). You can also press CTRL + Z.
RedoredoReverses the undo command (supported for .dwg files only). You can also press CTRL + Y.
SelectselectSelects one or more items in a .dwg or .dgn file. You can click an item or its corner to select it.
Deselectai_deselectRemoves selection from all items in a .dwg or .dgn file. You can also press ESC to remove selection.
EraseeraseRemoves an item you select from a .dwg or .dgn file.
Model or LayoutqvlayoutDisplays the designated tab when you click it. (Command line and mouse only.)
RegenregenallRegenerates the current view of the drawing.
Zoom Windowzoom or zoom wDisplays a window view of the drawing by specifying two opposite corners.
Zoom Inzoom or zoom 2xEnlarges the view of the drawing. You can also roll the mouse wheel button to zoom in and out of the drawing.
Zoom Outzoom or zoom .5xReduces the view of the drawing. You can also roll the mouse wheel button to zoom in and out of the drawing.
Zoom Extentszoom or zoom eDisplays the drawing at its extents. You can also double-click the mouse wheel button to zoom to the drawing extents.
PanpanMoves the view around the drawing by clicking and dragging the mouse. You can also click the mouse wheel button to pan the drawing without choosing the command.
Constrained Orbit3dorbitRotates the view around a three dimensional axis. Click and hold the mouse button to rotate the view. You can also press SHIFT + the mouse wheel button to start 3d orbit. (Available only in model space.)
Free Orbit3dforbitRotates the view in three dimensions without axis restriction. You can also press CTRL + SHIFT + the mouse wheel button to start 3dforbit. (Available only in model space.)
Continuous Orbit3dcorbitRotates the three dimensional view continuously. Click and hold the mouse button to rotate the view, then release the mouse button to continue the rotation. To stop the rotation, click in the drawing or press Esc or Enter. (Available only in model space.)
3D ViewsviewDisplays the drawing from the named view. You can also delete and change the properties of saved views.
Visual StylesvscurrentChanges the visual style of current view.
3D Background ColorbackgroundModifies the color of the background that displays in model space.
PropertiespropertiesDisplays the Properties palette where you can modify general properties of selected entities. All properties of line and arcs can be modified, but only general properties and material properties can be modified for other entities. Enter propertiesclose to close the Properties palette. (Command line only.)
LayerlayerDisplays and modifies the layer properties of the drawing.
Command Linecommandline or commandlinehideDisplays the command line window if it has been closed. You can also press CTRL + 9 to show or hide the command line window.
Set System VariablesetvarAllows you to view or set the value for any system variable defined for the current .dwg or .dgn file. (Command line only.)
Reset System Registry VariablesresetvarsResets system variables to their default values. (Command line only.)
Registry Variable Discard Back FacesdiscardbackfacesWhen turned on (set to 1), surface geometry is visible from one side only. This is turned off (set to 0) by default. (Command line only.)
Registry Variable Custom Toolbar PathddcuipathsSpecifies a folder from which to load toolbars defined in custom.cui files. For example, the toolbar defined in OdaQtObjects.cui is loaded automatically from resources, but the .cui file can be copied, customized, and its location specified using DDCUIPATHS. (Command line only.)
Load Menumenu or cuiload or cuiunloadMenu is loaded from .cui file, which can be customized. (Command line only.)
Load ApplicationapploadLoads a TX application (.tx file) and runs it within ODA Drawings Explorer.
Registered Commands Runs the command selected from a list of currently loaded commands.
Run ScriptscriptRuns a selected script (.scr file).
Modeling BoxboxDraws a box.
Modeling SpheresphereDraws a sphere.
LinelineDraws a line.
ClosecloseCloses the current window.
Close AllcloseallCloses all open windows.
