PDES, Inc. Welcomes Open Design Alliance (ODA) to the PDES, Inc. Consortium

Dallas, TX – Oct 26, 2021

PDES, Inc. welcomes Open Design Alliance (ODA) to the consortium as an Industry 6 Solution Provider. ODA is a non-profit technology consortium, whose ODA platform supports CAD & BIM interoperability through professional application development for open and proprietary standards.

By taking part in the consortium, ODA will provide value to their members by working directly with the subject matter experts who are developing the standards used by hundreds of ODA member companies. Cooperation with PDES will fast-track the development of ODA’s new STEP SDK (Software Development Kit), a complete interoperability solution for STEP that will allow ODA member companies to quickly integrate STEP support into any application.

“We are excited to have ODA join PDES, Inc. and look forward to the additional perspective they bring to the consortium with twenty-three years’ experience managing collaborative interoperability development projects globally. ODA will assist our efforts to develop and deliver data standards that are of high quality and meet the interoperability requirements of industry today," Brian Chiesi, General Manager of PDES, Inc.

“We’re pleased to join PDES,” said Neil Peterson, ODA President. “Our new STEP technology represents a strategic move by ODA into the mechanical CAD market, and we’re looking forward to delivering a best-in-class STEP solution to our 1,200 member companies.”

ODA develops complete interoperability solutions for CAD and BIM. Its SDKs provide data access, creation, visualization, web collaboration and publishing for a wide range of engineering file formats. ODA is supported by more than 1,200 member companies, including software developers, manufacturers, government entities, AEC firms, major retailers and other organizations spread across every engineering discipline.
